NEST 2017 Notification | Nationwide Education and Scholarship Test 2017 | Apply Online
Nationwide Education and Scholarship Test is being conducted for the award of NEST- Junior Scholarships. Applications are invited from bonafide students of all recognized schools/colleges of Class IX, X, XI & XII (Science Stream only) for the award of Several Scholarships worth Rs.25,000/- to Rs.50,000/- each. The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of Nationwide Education and Scholarship Test (NEST) 2017.
Certificate of Appreciation are also awarded to all high scoring candidates in the test with All India Ranking (AIR). Only for those students who are currently studying in Class IX, X, XI & XII i.e. who are appearing in 2017 exams.
Only those students who are appearing or passing out their Class IX, X, XI & XII exams of 2017 are eligible to apply for NEST-Junior-2017
Amount & No. of Scholarships :
There are at least 10 scholarships of Rs.25,000/- each to the top 10 scores (Rs.40,000/- to Rank#1 holder in the list) in NEST-Junior-I category upto 1000 candidates. Thereafter, there is atleast 1 scholarship in every 200 candidates on an average.
There are at least 10 scholarship of Rs.30000/- each to the top 10 scores (with Rs.50,000/- to Rank#1) in NEST-II-JUNIOR-II category upto 1000 candidates. Thereafter, there is at least 1 scholarship in every 200 candidates on an average
Certificates of Appreciation shall be awarded to all candidates who score aggregate of 40% and above of all the four sections put together in the test; the can download their scorecard and Certificate of Application Form from our website in the last week of May 2017.
The scholarships are awarded based on merit in an online test of 02 hours for 150 questions for 150 marks; the test comprises of four sections of 50 questions each (one mark for each question) in Physics & Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, English Language and Simple Logic & General Knowledge.
NEST 2017 Syllabus:
The content and level of questions are based on SSC and HSC books prescribed by the CBSE, ICSE and other State boards across India.
NEST-JUNIOR-I (for Class IX & X):
The test comprises of four sections as given bellows:
I. Physics (25 Questions & 25 Marks)
II. Chemistry (25 Questions & 25 Marks)
III. Mathematics (25 Questions & 25 Marks)
IV. Biology (25 Questions & 25 Marks)
V. English Language (25 Questions & 25 Marks)
VI. Logic & General Knowledge (25 Questions & 25 Marks)
Total – All Sections in Two Hours (150 Questions & 150 Marks)
NEST-JUNIOR-II (for Class XI & XII):
I. Physics & Chemistry (50 Questions & 50 Marks)
II. Mathematics/Biology (50 Questions & 50 Marks)
III. English Language (50 Questions & 50 Marks)
IV. Logic & General Knowledge (50 Questions & 50 Marks)
Total – All Sections in Two Hours (200 Questions & 200 Marks)
Grading of Marks:
1. Grade A+ (From 90% to 100%) / (From 180 to 200 Marks)
2. Grade A+ (From 80% and below 90%) / (From 160 to 179 Marks)
3. Grade B+ (From 70% and below 80%) / (From 140 to 159 Marks)
4. Grade B+ (From 60% and below 70%) / (From 120 to 139 Marks)
5. Grade C+ (From 50% and below 60%) / (From 100 to 119 Marks)
6. Grade C (From 40% and below 50%) / (From 80 to 99 Marks)
Medium of Test: The medium of test is Simple English Language.

How to Apply:
You may log on to www.nest.net.in to apply and pay fees Online or follow the below given steps to send application by post /courier.
Step-I: Download the Application Form from www.nest.net.in/application_form.htm
Step-II: Fill up the application form correctly and completely and paste your latest photograph in the space provided on it.
Step-III: Send you filled up application form by registered post /courier attached with a Demand Draft of Rs.500/- in favour of SEMCI India payable at Mumbai at the following address SEMCI India, B-1, Piccadilly Flats, 57-J, Clare Road, Byculla, Mumbai-400008
It is the prerogative of the college to charge Rs.25/- per candidates as processing fee for collection and dispatch of application to NEST office if application are sent through school/college.
Participation Fee: Rs.500/- add you may like to add a fee of Rs.250/- for a Book of Sample Questions. However, the book is Free in January & February
